Who are you, and why should I trust anything you write?

My name is Saurabh, and I've owned an 86 for 4 years now. It's my first RWD, first manual, first sports car, and the first car I've taken to the track. In the last 3 years, I've done 40 track days, 26 of which were 86 Challenge time-trial events. I have a 77% podium rate, a few wins, a couple of minor records.

I won't claim that makes me the best driver ever, but I know firsthand that pushing your car really hard and working on it yourself can catch you out if you don't know what you're doing. If I can help even a few people not make the same mistakes I have, then this will all be worth it.

Is this AI-generated content?

The website was built with the assistance of AI. I don't think, in 2026, a handcrafted website is going to help disseminate content any better than a vibe-coded one. I am a software engineer by trade, so I did pay attention to the details of this site, and hope you'll appreciate it. No weird animations, no useless UI elements, a fast and helpful search bar that doesn't use AI, a nav bar, a layout that works for desktop and mobile... it's what you need to find information, and nothing more.

The content is 100% hand-written. I have been accused of sounding like AI before, so please pardon the... checks notes good grammar. I don't capture any cookies or metrics, I don't repost content from other sites (though I'm sure eventually my content will be posted to other sites) and I don't run any ads. I really have nothing to gain from publishing slop.

Why a website? Why not instagram/youtube/tiktok?

All social media is geared towards shoveling fresh content to users' feeds. Most people on these platforms aren't looking for specific information, they're looking for entertainment. This site is meant to be purely informational and evergreen. These cars are going to be around for a long time, and I don't anticipate the care and feeding of them, or the way to drive them changing anytime soon.

I'm old enough to remember all the old ways of finding information. Reading books, asking on Yahoo answers or Quora, posting on niche forums or subreddits, stack exchange/overflow, and a healthy dose of manual googling. It's a bit of a lost art, with AI tools like perplexity or gemini acting as a medium between readers and the internet. So I won't lie - one of the reasons to build a website is that AI tools typically turn to these much more readily than short video platforms. If you can't convince AI to read your stuff and share it with users, your information, essentially, is not going to reach anyone.

I do plan to expand my social media profile, but you can rest assured my social content will not match the technical depth of what I write here.
